Soft Records began at the very end of 1999 with the debut solo album by Purdy, entitled Kevolution
(SOFT001). Kevin Purdy, aka Purdy created Soft Records as a way to
release and promote his solo work as well as his other musical venture Tooth (1996-2006), where he teamed up with Sir Robbo and John Maddox for three great albums, albums No Strings (no label), Sirens from here to Titan (SOFT003) and Mudlarking (SOFT006), as well as the 12" single Shift / Sons of Shade (SOFT004).
We have also released the Purdy albums 'Kevolution' (SOFT001), 'Fairytale Insurance' (SOFT005) , 'Deviant Nature' (SOFT007), 'Illumination' (SOFT008), 'Body Variations' (SOFT009), In Transit (SOFT010) and the 12" EP 'Tyranikal'
(SOFT002).
The latest cab off the rank is the outcome of a magical music reaction where two musician, composer types connect and sparks fly! Avoidance (SOFT011), by Geoff Kevin aka Geoff Towner and Kevin Purdy is the latest gem to come from the Soft Records label and we're p r e t t y chuffed about that.
The
history of Soft Records has been truly wonderful. There has been a wonderful connection all over this lovely planet, with each new release richly embraced. Happy ears, happy hearts .
We
have maintained a philosophy here at Soft Records of releasing and
promoting our releases in ways that are conscious of and respectful
towards fellow travellers and music lovers who do not enjoy being sold
trash and talked to as a target market audience. We here, LOVE music.
